The Journey of Ghorpade from Mudhol to Pune
Mudhol :
History:
The
Ghorpade and Bhosale Dynasty has the same origin as the Sisodia family of
Chittor.The Mudhol family claims descent from Karnasingh (Rawal of Mewar)
whereas the Bhosale from Shubhkrishna.
During
the Bahamani’s Era, Vishalgad (early known as Khelana) was captured and won by
father and son Karnasinh and Bhimsinh. Karnasinh died in the battle and
Bhimsinh was granted the title of “ Raja Ghorpada Bahaddur” with the Jahagir of
84 villages in Karnataka.
Mudhol
was the princely State in British times and has 9 Gun Salute.
Shrimant Sardar D.T aka Vasantraoraje Ghorpade’s Lineage :
In
1947 after Union of Princely States, D.T aka Vasantraoraje along with Maharaj
Bhairavsinhraja Ghorpade came to Poona and served in the Police Department. A well-known
courageous police personality having helping nature to all people in society. He
also donated a few of his agricultural lands in Mudhol.
He
married Sulochanadevi and has Son Girishraje. Girishraje is a sportsman and has
played Cricket at the District level and various cricket clubs. He has contributed
greatly in the fields of Educational, Social, and Sports activities which
awarded him from the State Government and felicitated by Governor of Maharashtra.
His
Wife Madhuridevi aka Madhugandharaje is a poetess and also writes Articles on
various Historical, Spiritual, and Social topics in Magazines and Newspapers.
Their
son Rohitraje is passionately glorifying the history of the family by
participating in and arranging various events.
After research, he has also built a statue of Ghorpade’s which he takes a procession
once a year on every Shivjayanti on 19th February in Pune.
Under the guidance of his father Girishraje, they are hosting the “RajeGhorpade
Swarajya Rath” organized by Shivjayanti Mahotsav Samiti in Pune from last 6
years to enhance the history of the family by inviting people irrespective to
their caste and religion.
To
Restore the Historical Forts, Rohitraje with his father Girishraje is
participating in the Durgpuja events on various forts in Maharashtra which is been
carried by Shivaji Trails.
Soon
they are launching a Marathi Movie on the history of Ghorpade family which is
produced by Girishraje and Scripted by Rohitraje Ghorpade.
From
Generations of the historical legacy is been carried out. Shanvikaraje ( d/o
Rohitraje & Poonamraje) hit limelight by participating in RajeGhorpade Swarajya
Rath in traditional Attire on Shivjayanti and other events in Pune.
